Brian K. Aliff has called Bluefield W.V. home for over 34 years. The mountains drew him from a early age and his passion
for the outdoors is rivaled only by his devotion to his family. He and his family enjoy the outdoors hunting,
fishing, trapping, camping, and shooting traditional archery. His own experinces in nature and the wildlife that inhabit
the local mountains are reflected in his artwork. Self-taught, with no formal art training other than art classes in public
school, Brian has painted and drawn most of his life as a hobby. He has painted on various objects including sawblades,
milk cans, slate, wingbone and box turkey calls. He came in contact with turkey feather painting for the first time in 1999
at a National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) show in N.C. Intrigued by this new found media, Brian
attempted to create his own after harvesting a turkey in 2001. Since then he has embraced the media and devolped his
own technique and style, painting on turkey feathers almost exclusively for the past 4 years. Brian most recently
ventured in to the world of custom call making, and as a rookie won a second place award in the Grand National Call Making
contest entering 1 call in the Decorative Box call (painted not carved) category of the NWTF Decorative Turkey Call division.
